CITY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />January 22, 1979 <br /> <br />FINDINGS OF FACT <br /> <br /> 1. That the subject property consists of sixty (60) acres and is legally <br />described as: <br /> <br /> That part of the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter and <br /> the Northwest Quarter of ~he Northeast Quarter of Section 29, <br /> Township 32, Range 25, lying northerly of th~ Burlington Northern <br /> Rai]/oad right-of-way. <br /> <br /> 2. That the proper~y is presently located in the transition a~ea of the City <br />and in an R-1 residential zone. <br /> <br /> 3. That the applicant, ~4 Investment Company, is the fee owner of a portion <br />of the property and a contract for deed purchaser of a portion of the p~operty from <br />David McGinnis. <br /> <br /> 4. That the applicant proposes to have %he subject property rezoned to an I-1 <br />industrial district. <br /> <br /> 5. That the application has been reviewed by the City's Planning and Zoning <br />Comnission which has made findings of fact and a r~tion to the City Council, <br />which reoon,,endation and findings of fact is incorporated her~n. <br /> <br /> 6. That the City Council after receiving the Planning and Zoning initial <br />r~ation referred the matter to the City's Econc~ic Development Cu,u,~ssion, and <br />after reviewing %he Economic Development C~,,,~ssion the City Council reviewed the <br />matter and directed that proposed findings be prepared. <br /> <br /> Tha% the property lies beL-we~n railroad trackage and a major thoroughfare <br /> <br />highway. <br /> <br /> 8. <br /> <br /> That it is better suited for an industrial use than a residential use because <br />of noise created by train traffic, highway traffic and vibration.. <br /> <br /> <br />
