PI. arming & Zoning City of Ramsey County of Anoka State of Minnesota A regular meeting of the Ramsey City Planning & Zoning Commission was held on February 5, 1979 at Ramsey City Municipal Center, 15153 Now~ben Blvd, N~W, Meeting was called to order by Chairman Ken Peterson at 7~27 p,m, with the fo]lowing in attendance: Ken~eth Peterson Kathy Sc]me~ der Run West Brad Bodle A1 Sorteberg Art Dunn Also Present~ Lloyd Schnelle (Gerry Zimmerman arrived 10~35p,m~) Agenda was approved with the addition of Election of Officers, and Report on Webrman g Chapman charges on critical rivers plan. Motion by A1 Sorteberg, seconded by Ron West to appyove the minutes of January ~, ]97~ as read. Motion carried 6-0. ~aJswaY N~.~ Industrial Park Plat 2 - Preliminary Plat Approval: Mr. Schne]le reminded the Commission of the fact that this plat is shown as being located in the transitional area which has the 2.5 acre requirement, and lhe plat presented has 1 acre lots. Discussion regarding this fact followed wi%h the consensus of the Commission being that they were in favor of the ].ess than 2.5 acre lot size, but that they didn't know the best way to handle th~s. Commission members stated that they would prefer an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan versus granting a variance on the plat. The Commission would like an opinion from the City Attorney regarding the best way to handle this. In discussion of the Engineer's Report, Ym. Greenberg stated that he was puzzled %hat there were still so many points to be cleared up as his engineer was.supr_ posed to be working on this. Mr. Veve stated that he has been trying to conduct business in the City for numerous years without adequste roads and would like to see this plat finished. Motion by Art Donn, seconded by Brad Bodle to'table this item until later in' the meeting so that Mr. Greenberg has time to review the engineer's findings, and the lot size problem can be worked out. Motion carried 6-0. Sorteberg Addition'a Prop0sed Preliminary Plat:~ · ?T~e Engineer's report of 2/2/?9 was reviewed, and discussion held. Mr. Sorteberg was asked what he would like to see done in regards t~ 161st Avenue, and he staled that he would not like to see anything done that would cause removal of the trees lining the street. Commission members agreed that this is actually a City street and even upgrading with .class 5 would be expensive, and should not be the entire burden of the plat. Art Dunn stated that since it was a Cit~ moad~ the developer was not responsible. Run ~est questioned the park dedication stating t~at in his opinion 2.5 acres plus cash ~ith plans for adding an additional 2.5 acres when the adjoining property is platted would be a better idea. Motion b~ Pa-ad Bodle, seconded by Brad Bodle to recommend to the City Council to approve the preliminary plat of Sorteberg Addition with the following recommendations:
