Planning & Zoning City of Ramsey County of Anoka State of M~nnesota 215179 A regular meeting of the Ramsey City Planning & Zoning Commission was held on February 5, 1979 at Ramsey City Municipal Center, 15153 No.then Blvd, N~W, Meeting was called to order by Chairman Ken Peterson at 7527 p,m~ with the fo]lowing in attendance: Kenneth Peterson Kathy Schneider Ron West Brad Bodle A1 Sorteberg Art Dunn Also Present~ Lloyd Schnelle (Gerry Zimmerman arrived 10~35p,m~) Approval of Agenda: Agenda was approved with the addition of Election of Officers, and Report on Webrman & Chapman charges on critical rivers plan. Approval of Minutes: Motion by A1 Sorteberg, seconded by Ron West to approve the minutes of January 2, 1979 as read. Motion carried 6-0. ~_teway North Industrial Park Plat 2 - Preliminary Plat Approval: Mr. Schne]_le reminded the Commission of the fact that this plat is shown as being located in the transitional area-which has the 2.5 acre requirement, and the plat presented has 1 acre lots. Discussion regarding this fact followed with the consensus of the Commission being that they were in favor of the ]ess than 2.5 acre lot size, but that they didn't know the best way to handle this. Commission members stated that they would prefer an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan versus granting a variance on the plat. The Commission would like an opinion from the City Attorney regarding the best way to handle this. In discussion of the Engineer's Report, Mm. GreeD_berg stated that he was puzzled that there were still'so many points to be cleared up as-his engineer was.sup=_ posed to be working on this. Mr. Veve stated that he has been trying to conduct business in the City for numerous years without adequate roads and would like to see this plat finished. Mo~ion by Art Du~n, seconded by Brad Bo'dle to'table this item until later in' the meeting so that Mr. Greenberg bas time to review the engineer's findings, and the lot size problem can be worked out. Mr. Sorteberg was asked what he would like to see done in regards tb 161st Avenue, and he stated that he would not like to see anything done that would cause removal of the trees lining the street. Commission members agreed that this is actually a City street and even upgrading with .class 5 would be expensive, and should not be the entire burden of the plat.
