FROM: City Administrator TO: Mayor and Council Members SUBJ: Critique on Council Old Business ENCL: (D2-a) Copy of Bid on sander, dump box, one snow plow w/wing attach CASE 1: PHIL NERESON REGARDING EDA GRANT ON RAMSEY MUNICIPAL CENTER: This will be in finalizing this EDA Grant out which will encom- pass the following: a. Authorizing final payment to the Architectual firm. b. Finalizing the grant total expenditures and make-use of any remaining grant funds to improve Municipal Center. c. Also to get a audit authorize if this is needed which I'm sure is a requirement. CASE 2: COUNCIL ACTION ON BID FOR DUMP BOX, SNOW PLOW W/WING, AND SANDER: Council at their meeting of March 26, 1978 received a tabled action on the above bid due to the cost and money budgeted for ' these items. Enclosure (D2-a) is copy of the bid prices received at the above meeting. We allocated $20,000 for the prime mover and the above equipment in our 1979 budget. However, the prime mover will cost $12,658.33 (which Council accepted) plus $14,200 for dump box, snow plow w/wing and sander (low bid) equals $26,858.33 which exceeds our budget $6858.33. Recommendation: In as much as we need all the equipment in that bid, I would recommend that use General Fund Surplus. The other alter~ native is to reject these bids and call for new bids on a dump box and sander as it appears the one way snow plow w/wing attachment is. the coastly item. CASE 3: RECEIVING FEASIBILITY REPORT FOR IMPROVEMENT OF 161st AVENUE N.W. F-~)M ARMSTRONG BLVD TO VARIOLITE (Sorteber.g A~it'ion): The City Engineer will have this report available for Council at the meeting. The City's share in this improvement was not budgeted for in the 1979 budget mainly because this project was never discussed. Consequently, these, will probable have to be picked up through a bond issue.
