10:00 A.M. March 28, lg?g An informal meeting of the City Staff with the citizens of Itasca Heights at the above time and date at the Ramsey Municipal Center. Present at this meeting were the following: City Staff: City Administrator Lloyd Schnelle City Public Works Superintendent Merle Mevissen City Engineer Pete Raatikka Citizens: Mr. &. Mrs. E. K. Irvine, Jr. Mr. g Mrs. James Fitzpatrick Mr. & Mrs. R. Ahlman Mrs. John Terpstra George Gauer Gary M. Gorham A. E. Dumke Webster Wadsworth Also a letter from Daniel Bertram which is enclosed as enclosure (1) Purpose of this informal meeting was to discuss the street improvement project that was tabled in the fall of 1978 by the City Council at the request of some of the citizens. However, the Council did request that the City Staff meet with the citizens in this area and see what they actually wanted done in regards to improving their street. The City Engineer explained the different type of street construction methods that could be utilized. Mr. Fitzpatrick stated he was not part of the improvement project and that he did not want any more drainage easement on his property. It was explained to the citizens of Itasca Heights that it would be quite expensive to use the drainage easement that was provided in the plat. The citizens felt that they would really like to have their streets in Itasca Heights plat upgraded to a standard city street without the bituminous surfacing. It was pointed out to them that this work would probably be assessed back to the property owners as all street improve-- ments in platted areas. It was stated that this would be taken before the Council for their review and action. Further, they would be notified of the outcome on the proposed street improvement.
