PAGE 6 MAY 29, 1979 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, Mickelson, Reimann and~ Sorteberg. Voting no: None. RAMSEY AUTO BODY (Formerly Bill's Auto Body.) REGARDING 'THE CONSTRUCTION OF A CONCRETE BLOCK BUILDING MY. Bill Aydt and Mr. Craig Pladsen approached the Council regarding his intention to construc± another bUilding (q0' X 70') for expansion of'his existing business. He mentioned the possibility of subdividing a portion of. his property into three one-acre lots and Mr. Plason constructing a self-service car wash on the property. A,discussion was held on a driveway for the car wash. A discussion was also held regarding the UMB zoning which was granted to Mr. Aydt so that his investment would have protection for future resale. In this regard, the City attorney alluded to Paragraph 170.015 I(3) Areas of Standards and Permitted Uses for UMB Districts which showed permitted uses for this zoning; he also pointed out, the portion stating'Retail business~if~the'City Council Shall Find No Adverse Impact on th9 Area." It was noted that Mr. Aydt had been given a zoning of UMB to act as a buffer between residential and commercial. Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Reimann that Mr. Aydt is presently maintaining and operating a body shop which the council feels is a permitted use of the UMB zoning which they approved for Mr. Aydt and an expansion of that pa.rticular use will be also permitted under the present zoning. Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, Mickelson,.Reimann and Sorteberg. Voting no: None. Note was made that the new building will be part of the existing business~in the existing building. ACCESSORY' BUILDING: CASE OF STANLEY'BROWNING Mr. Browning Was not present to discuss his request for.an accessorY building. It was noted that Mr. Browning appears to be operating'an auto bepair om'junk business in an R-1 (Residential-single family) zoned area and this type of'business is not a permitted use. Councilman Cox said that whatevem legal action necessary Should be taken to cease the operation, citizens have already complained about it.- Motion by Councilman Cox, seconded by Councilman Mickelsonto table this case until Mr. Browning appears before Council to present his request.' Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox~ MickelSon, Reimann' and Sorteberg. Voting no: None. REQUEST FOR INSTALLATION OF LIGHT AT ENTRANCE~TO'RAMSEyMUNICIPAL'CENTER DRIVEWAY Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilan Cox:to authorize %he installation of a 175 watt light (street/security) at the entrance to the Municipal Center.
