Following is a list <br /> <br /> of costs for the major repairs mhd an ex]olanation of each. See also the at- <br /> tached bills. <br /> <br /> The bid for engine repair went to Jack's Auto Repair at a price of $1,106.25. <br /> <br /> This figure included all costs to rebuild the engine and inspect/rebuild en- <br /> <br /> gJme related accessories (starter, alternator, fuel pump, etc.) and front end. <br /> <br /> Jack contacted me must prior to the date the car was to go in to his shop and <br /> advised that he had lined up a new, "long-block", 360 CID engine from the ~[C <br /> warehouse. To acquire this would amount to approximately $250 more than the <br /> original bid but would give us a better engine as all parts would be new. I <br /> took the liberty of telling hLm to go ahead with this engine from M,~. Also~ <br /> <br /> I requested that he see v/nat could be done to build u~ the rear end which sags <br /> <br /> due to the heavy front springs. He did this by adding heavy~ spring supported <br /> shocks in the rear. Together these two items caused his final bill to come to <br /> $1,~J~5.70. <br /> <br />The transmission, after d riving the car with the engine repaired showed de~ini%e <br />signs of slippage and need for repairs more e_~temsive than the front seal and the' <br />filter kit installed during the engine repair. I took the car to Anoka Transmission <br />-and~ after observing myself the worn clutches had them rebuild the unit.
