City of Ramsey

15153 Nowthen Boulevard Jq.W., Anoka, Minnesota 55303 · (612) 427-1410

POLICE DEPARTMENT

6-2-79

From:
Re:

City Council
Chief' Auspos
1976 Matador So, ad Repair

As of this date the 1976 ~,;C Matador is back in service. Following is a list

of costs for the major repairs mhd an ex]olanation of each. See also the at-
tached bills.

The bid for engine repair went to Jack's Auto Repair at a price of $1,106.25.

This figure included all costs to rebuild the engine and inspect/rebuild en-

gJme related accessories (starter, alternator, fuel pump, etc.) and front end.

Jack contacted me must prior to the date the car was to go in to his shop and
advised that he had lined up a new, "long-block", 360 CID engine from the ~[C
warehouse. To acquire this would amount to approximately $250 more than the
original bid but would give us a better engine as all parts would be new. I
took the liberty of telling hLm to go ahead with this engine from M,~. Also~

I requested that he see v/nat could be done to build u~ the rear end which sags

due to the heavy front springs. He did this by adding heavy~ spring supported
shocks in the rear. Together these two items caused his final bill to come to
$1,~J~5.70.

The transmission, after d riving the car with the engine repaired showed de~ini%e
signs of slippage and need for repairs more e_~temsive than the front seal and the'
filter kit installed during the engine repair. I took the car to Anoka Transmission
-and~ after observing myself the worn clutches had them rebuild the unit. This
cost was

I have purchased a new spotlight for the car at a cost of approximately
