TO: Robert Hutchison
From: Art Dunn
Subject: Anoka 'Landfill Slope of Termination

On Tuesday, June 19, 1979 Dave Harman and I surveyed, the slopes at
the Anoka Landfill to determine if the final cover application was
adgquate to comply with the provisions of the solid wast~ ordinance. ~
The slopes probed consists of approximately the west 150 feet of the .
north slope and the entire west slope of the landfill. The slopes
were probed approximately 10 feet from the bottom of the slop~, approx-
imately midway between the bottom and top of the slope and approximately
10 feet from the top or crest of the slope. Probes were ~aken at 30
foot intervals along the entire areas surveyed.
Based on our findings the only area needing additional final
cover application was the northwest corner of the landfill along the
bottom edge of the area surveyed. It was also noted during o~r invest-
igation that there were several washouts that had occured from the recent
rains. These washouts must be filled with top soil prior to seeding.
There is also an area that has exposed lime sludge that.is located im-
mediately south of the area seeded last fall that must have a final cover
application prior to seeding operations. The attached sketch map shows
the areas probed and the readings of cover over lime Sludge and th~
total cover applied over the solid wasts. Ail readings are in inches.

bb
