Regarding the CETA position. It is suggested that Mr. Mevissen be <br />contacted to have someone assist him with the park programs and to <br />delay hiring additional persons. <br /> <br />Mr. Walz discussed the need for additional hockey rink due to the <br />participation of the children in this area in the hockey program. <br />Costs of the hockey rink are to be brought to the next meeting. <br /> <br />Councilmn Reimann said he would like to see the hockey rink located <br />at City Hall. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec discussed having a bond issue to help develop the parks <br />sooner. <br /> <br />APPLICATION FOR OFF-SALE LIQU, O~R'LIC~NSE <br /> <br />M & L Liquors application for liquor license to sell off-sale intoxi- <br />cating liquor. <br /> <br />Application also from Mr. Gilbertson for location at 6141 Highway 10. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann stated that he based his original motion on the <br />fact that the application has to be in accord with the City Ordinance <br />and at the last meeting he discussed getting the liquor commission <br />back into operation to research the 'food and liquor requirement and <br />possible amendments to the ordinance. <br /> <br />Discussion held on whether Mr. Gilbertson planned to locate this <br />liquor business in the old NHC building and also whether' Mr. Muller <br />has enough space for parking. <br /> <br />Councilman Mickelson stated that he feels Mr. Gilbe~on's location <br />is too close to the McGregOr Liquor Store. It is Council's desire <br />that we do not zone anymore land commercial in that area'. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said he agreed when a plan was just adopted'he Sees no <br />reason to change it. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said he has no problem with the M & L proposed liquor store. <br /> <br />Councilman Sorteberg said that the Muller property should not have been <br />zoned commercial but since it is there and-several businessesalready <br />exist he could see no reason not to use the'property. <br /> <br />Motion by Mickelson seconded by Councilman Reimann to issue to M & L <br />liquor an intoxicating off sale liquor license for the'.locationl <br />on the corner of Highway 47 and 'I67th Avenue and to turn down'the' <br />Gilbertson application on thebasis that his proposed'location is <br />too close to the McGre~OrLiauor Store. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
