TO: Mayor and City Council

FROM: City Administrator

RE: Staff Report

DATE: September 21, 1979

Enclosure (Dl-al) Cost breakdown for 1979 Construction projects
(Dl-b2) Rebecca Jo Spence letter dated September 17,1979

1. 1979 Construction Projects: Enclosure (1) contains the cost break~
downs for the 1979 construction projects, except the Variolite Project
(79-2) and the Tungsten Project (79-10). The reason for exclusion of
the Tungsten and Front Street Storm Sewer Project (79-10) is covered in
Council Old Business under case #5. We have mailed out the public hear-
lng notices for the assessable projects.

2. Budget: The budget committee will be meeting Tuesday night,
September ~5, 1979, at 7:00 P.M.

3. Status of plats in regards to improvements: We are now preparing
a list of plats that are not in compliance with their development con-
tract agreement. At the next Council meeting will be inviting these
individuals to have them explain their delays. However, if you don't
want to be bothered with the individual parties we can just submit you
the names.

4. Notification of suit being filed against the City: Enclosure (2)
contains the letter of Rebecca Jo Spence which has been forwarded to
our insurance carrier. I have also spoken to the City Attorney and
the Chief of Police on this matter. Today, September 21, 1979, a $~.
Doug Peterson who resides at 8211 - 157th Lane N.W. called me about this~
situation and he was quite upset. I explained to him what our procedure
would be in regards to this matter and he seemed to be satisfied.

LGS:sb
