PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the Ramsey City Council held a <br />public hearing at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard, <br />Ramsey, Minnesota 55303 <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilman Cox <br />Councilman Reimann <br />CoLn~cilman Sorteberg <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Administrator Schnelle <br />Engineer Raatikka <br />Attorney Goodrich <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the public hearing to order at 6:32 P.M. and led <br />the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />He exp. lained the purpose of the Assessment Hearing is to consider the <br />assessment for BROOKVIEWESTATES and area of Neon Street Assessment. <br />That the City is conducting these hearings at this time to save one <br />years interest. He stated that some of the projects have restoration <br />of ditches, repairing of test holes, some driveway matching to the street, <br />etc., still left to be completed. He explained that it is against the <br />law to install concrete extensions, that it can only be done with an <br />expansion between the driveway and the street. He stated that anyone <br />wishing concrete extensions on their driveways should contact the City <br />before proceeding. He also explained that those persons with existing <br />driveways within three feet of the road surface had their.driveways <br />connected' to the street by the project. And, that due to drainage <br />problems created by the Project itself that some driveways had to be <br />done up to six and eight feet. <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka reviewed the project and the costs. <br /> <br />Bill Sundeen, 5451 173rd Avenue N.W., asked that additional dirt be <br />installed on his side of the street as he did not want to mow rocks. <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka reported that they are working on the restoration at <br />present. <br /> <br />Councilman CoK asked if Mr. Sundeen preferred sod right up to the blacktop. <br />Engineer'Raatikka.explained that they leave 1~2 fee~ of gravel surface on <br />the side of the' roads because it makes a more solid shoulder'and that <br />it would have to be graded. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann replied that when the snow is plowed if there is sod <br />right up to the edge of the roadway that it would cut it up. <br /> <br />Mr. Sundeen asked about washing gravel. <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka responded that where the slopes are steep, they will <br />be putting black dirt and seeding and this will prevent washing the gravel <br />away. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING <br /> BROOKVIEW ESTATES <br /> 10/9/79 - COJNClL <br /> <br /> <br />
