CITY OF b~vISEY <br /> ,~OKA COUNTY <br /> STM'E OF bllNNqlSOTA <br /> <br />PARK & RECRFAT~ION CC~\NISSION <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />A special ;meting of the Ramsey Park and Recreation Commission was held on <br />November 27, 1979, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W. <br />Ra,~ey, Minnesota 55303 <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />De,mis Donovan <br />Terry McLean <br />Sam Walz <br />Janice Johnson <br />Dick Swanson <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Mayor Gamec <br /> <br />The meetSng was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Chairman Dermis Donovan. <br />The subject of this special meeting is: Preliminary work on Bond Issue. <br /> <br />Mayor Gm,cc presented eight (8) points he felt necessary to get the <br />bond issue unden~ay. <br /> <br />What bond use should provide. <br /> a. Review existing parks and what should be done with each. <br />Landfill - must become major park and possible conmmmity center. <br />I~3ng-range cost to the City. <br />Cost per homeo~mer for bond and maintenance cost. <br />Get money from City Council--How much? <br />People to serve on committee. <br />Meeting with City of Champlin. <br />Meeting with Committee and concerned citizen groups. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec presented seven(7) priority items. These items with <br />discussion are: <br /> <br />Purchase or donation of property, at least 40 acres. <br /> (Action) <br /> Mayor Gamec will investigate the possibility of <br /> land acquisition from Federal Cartridge, approx. 40 <br /> acres by St. Anthony Gun Club. <br /> <br />Complete Titterud Park. a. hockey rink; b. well; c. building. <br /> (Action) <br /> This park still needs backstops, soccer field. There will be <br /> no hockey rink, no well. A satellite with possible decorative <br /> shelter for them, security and aesthetics and creative play area <br /> are still needed. <br /> <br />3.
