Case ~2 - Economic Subcommittee:

Economic subcommittee member Jack Schneider informed the Commission that this
committee had met late last month regarding the brochure they plan on putting
out.

Subcommittee member Fults commented that City Engineer Raatikka and the Park
Board have been asked to work on part of it. They would like to sit down with
City Administrator Schnelle and discuss it further.

Commissioner Schneider stated that he had spoke with Ms. Brenda Bauerkemper of
the Ramsey Jaycee Women and found out they are putting together a pamphlet also,
however, theirs is more of a commercial type.

Case #3 - Finance Subcommittee:

No one was present to report on the activities of the Finance Subcommittee.

Case #4 - Report by the City. Administrator:

The City Administrator informed the Commission that City Attorney Goodrich is pre-
paring the corporation papers for a Local Development Corporation and it will be
going before the City Council for their regular meeting of July 27, 1982 for their
action.

The City Administrator referred to Resolution ~82-89 enclosed in the agenda which
established an ad hoc committee for the purpose of developing proposed policy for
the implementation of public utilities (sanitary sewer and water), storm sewer
and streets in the City of Ramsey. He noted that a letter has been sent to all
of those who were appointed to that committee.

City Administrator Schnelle also referred to Resolution ~82-91 enclosed in the
agenda which indicated that the City of Ramsey has adopted their Comprehensive
Plan and it has also been adopted by the Metro Council.

He informed the Commission that their concerns at their previous meeting about
rumors changing the Rum River Bridge alignment have been cleared up by the County
Engineer's Office.

Commissioner Menkveld asked City Administrator Schnelle when Ramsey could expect
commencement of this project.

City Administrator Schnelle explained that we had been told earlier this year that
we could plan on it starting this fall if the County was go get a government grant
they're hoping for. Otherwise, it would have to be funded by County bonding.

The City Administrator further stated that County Commissioner Ed Fields is very
supportive of this bridge crossing, although he will not be on the Board for much
longer and Ramsey should be concerned with who will be elected to the Board and
what their position on this subject will be.

Economic Development Commission
July 14, 1982
