CASE #4 - RAMSEY COMMUNITY PROFILE <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle said there had been a hold up in the profile <br />due to the State Aid lawsuit. <br /> <br />He had met in Elk River regarding the aidport with the City officials of <br />Elk River and Cargill. There have been no studies done yet but Cargill <br />was looking for thoughts regarding an airport investment. <br /> <br />He also said homeowners could object to having an airport in their backyard. <br /> <br />Commissioner Sentryz said that in southern Bloomington there is an airport <br />and the prerequisite to living next to it is that you have to have a hanger <br />next to your home. This is a private airstrip. There are some beautiful <br />homes around this airport. <br /> <br />A genera]_ discussion followed regarding an airport located in the northern <br /> <br />CASE #5 - RAMSEY LOCAL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (LDC) <br /> <br />This item was noted and no action or discussion followed. <br /> <br />CASE #6 - REPORT BY CITY ADMINISTRATOR <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle gave an update on the State Aid lawsuit. He <br />informed the Commission that information is available to anyone to read <br />if they so desire. <br /> <br />The Comprehensive Plan has been taken by the Metro Council. There is the <br />area of the Critical Area Plan but are hopeful this will fall in order with <br />the completion of the Ramsey Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />The Landfill Issue and Rum River Bridge Crossing will be the subject of a <br />meeting with Ed Fields and the Ramsey City Council as soon as a date can <br />be established. <br /> <br />A meeting with the State Revenue Department and the owners of Ramsey's <br />agriculture land under the green acres law will be set up to discuss <br />the increasing land valuations on agriculture land. <br /> <br />The City will be enforcing the City Code in regards to zoning and non- <br />conforming uses. <br /> <br />Commissioner Sentryz left the meeting at 8:32 A.M. <br /> <br />There was a general discussion on businesses in homes with regard to <br />zoning and the non-conforming uses. There is a large disparity in taxes <br />that are paid from one having their business in a residential area vs. <br />one having their business in a business area. <br /> <br />Chairman Greenberg stated the issue he sees surfacing a lot is the land- <br />fill.
