I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />! <br />1 <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />! <br />I <br /> <br /> of the City should encourage: <br /> <br /> 1) Employment opportunities within the City <br /> <br /> for residents of the City to the extent that they can <br /> <br /> be economically provided; <br /> <br /> 2) A mix of housing types, both with respect <br /> <br /> to cost and form; <br /> <br /> 3) A consistent growth in .assessed valuation <br /> <br /> to match growth in government service costs; <br /> <br /> 4) Convenient and economical outlets for retail <br /> <br /> and personal services; <br /> <br /> 5) Clustering of urban functions and land uses <br />requiring urban services to the extent possible as a <br />mechanism to preserve an open environment and to <br />minimize the total land service costs to the extent <br />possible consistent with current development and an <br />orderly transition of the community from its current <br />urban status to a more dense population over time. <br />During the course of the study, physical inventory and <br />discussions with other governmental units resulted in the <br />following basic development assumptions: <br /> <br /> 1) Construction of a bridge crossing the Rum River as <br /> <br />an easterly extension of CSAH #57 within the relatively near <br />future (five years or less). <br /> <br /> 2) Continued use of MTH #47 as a major artery in the <br />community without significant change in alignment. <br /> <br /> 3) Development of a municipal office facility on property <br /> <br />- 4 - <br /> <br /> <br />
