Timing The existing Airports chapter, based on forecasts developed in 1972, indicates the need to develop site plans, environ- mental assessments, and a land acquisition program for this airport between 1975 and 1985. However, reassessment of the present airport system and revision of the Airports chapter may result in changes to the nature and timing of this proposed facility. Conditions on Use The conditions on development and operation of this proposed airport would affect primarily the airport o~vner and are, therefore, omitted here. Those conditions that would have an effect on land use planning seem to be met by the location of this search area in the rural service area. Planning that is compatible with the preservation of rural land use will also tend to preserve the site for timely airport acquisition and development. Gateway North Industrial Airport (Existing) Character Gateway North is a general aviation airport; it is privately owned and operated for public use. This facility has two turf runways: 2700' x 150' and 2200' x 150'. Visual flying rules (VFR) apply to aircraft operations at this airport. Location Function Capacity Timing of Future Improvements Conditions on Use Gateway North is located in the City of Ramsey, in Section 27 (Map BS). This airport provides service to operators of light single- engine propeller aircraft. This facility is considered an industrial airport. Estimates of practical annual capacity have not been developed for this facility. Development of this facility is generally at the owner's discretion, sub3ect to a number of federal, state, metropolitan and local reviews and approvals.
