m I I I i I I I I I I ,I APPF~.IDI X 5 July 26, 1977 Mr. John Boland, Chairman Metropolitan Council Suite 300 Metro Square Building St. Paul, MN 55101 RE: City of Ramsey Response to Metropolitan System Statement Dear Chairman Boland: The purpose of this letter is to officially respond to the Metropolitan System Statement issued to the Citv of Ramsey on May 26, 1977. Staff and officials representing the City of Ramsey have been involved in many hours of discussion and negotiation with your staff over the past year. This process has involved active participation in the planning for the Champlin - Anoka - Brooklyn Park interceptor and participation on the study committee working with that facility planning. We have also been involved in amending the current City of Ramsey plan. It was submitted to your staff in March of 1976. The plan amend- ment proposes an urban development area in the City of Ramsey and has been thoroughly discussed with your staff prior to final action by the planning commission recommending it as the basic planning policy document for the City of Ramseyo During all of the above discussions we have had considerable input and response with respect to the population, employment, and housinq need projections which had previously been prepared for the City of Ramsey and which are contained in Part I of the Metropolitan System Statement. We have been operating with the understanding that those figures will be updated and we have been qiven preliminary population, employment, and household allocations which have resulted from the 208 study currently in process by your council and other Metropolitan agencies. We have reviewed the preliminary fiqures from that study and find them acceptable as "minimum" planning projections. m
