It is apparent that the majority of vehicular activity in Ramsey township is not local;
both 13. S. Highways i0 and 52 and State HighWay 47 carry a Substantial number
of vehicles through the township, in addition to serving local needs. Traffic volumes
on less used roadways can more readily be attributed to local use. Local traffic
volumes have undoubtedly increased since 1970 and will probably, continue to rise
with the increased development taking place in the township. The local patterns will
become even more noticeable when Interstate 94 is opened to traffic and long distance
trips particularly are shifted to that facility.

The more heavily traveled thoroughfares in Ramsey Township are surfaced with either
oil or asphalt. U. S. Highways 10 and 52, along with Ramsey Blvd., Nowthen Blvd.,
IndustryAvenue, Roanoke St., G.S.A.H. 7, 167thAvenue N.W., and part of
Gounty Road 63 have asphalt paved roadway surfaces. St. Francis Blvd., Armstrong
Blvd., Sunfish Lake Blvd., part of Variolite St. and 155th. Avenue, and the rest of
Gounty Road 63 have oiled surfaces. The remaining roads have gravel surfaces, ex-
cepting two developments. Brom's Addition and Durham Oaks Plat', adjacent develop-
ments in the extreme southeastern corner of the toWnship, have asphalt paved roads.
