Hunter's Hill

It is proposed that this site be reshaped (possibly terraced) to better
enhance the site, and that a neighborhood street be placed (for better
access) at the north end of the park when future development occurs.

?eltzer - also A-4

Because this 11.9 acre site probably has the most potential for be-
coming the nicest passive area in the city, it is proposed that the
park be developed to the extent of cleaning brush, cleaning the shoreline
of the pond, making walkways, improving on the playground area, and
making plantings of various kinds for shade, screening and visual
enhancement. It is also proposed that additional acreage at the south
end of the site be acquired and developed as a connecting corridor
from Peltzer to the sanitary landfill--which is proposed as a large
community or possibly a regional recreation site. The acreage for
the corridor should be acquired only when the landfill is closed down
and converted to a recreation site.

Beaudry

Because of very poor accessibility to the site, and because it serves
only as a surface water drainage area, this 5.5 acre site will be
left as it is.

Greenland Hills 1

This 15.6 acre site serves mainly as a surface water drainage area,
with residents nearly surrounding it. A small portion of Yolite
Street abuts the site on the west. It is proposed that this section
of the park be cleaned and that plantings be made for visual purposes°

Greenland Hills 2

This 8.6 acre site is similar in function to Greenland Hills 1 (that
being a surface water drainage area), and it is proposed that the
site be cleaned where possible and left as is.

Whispering Pines 1 - also Az5 and A,6

This is an 11.4 acre site -- 60% of which functions as a surface water
drainage area. It is proposed that this site be expanded to the west
by an additional 10-15 acres for athletic and passive purposes. Where
the existing site is hilly and slopes into a marsh area, the proposed
addition is flat and would lend itself to being a nice recreation
area. In addition, approximately 175 acres are proposed as a special-
ilized facility---that being a golf course which would be located
west of Whispering Pines 1, and take advantage of Lake Itasca on the
north and east sides.

- 22 -
