Whispering Pines 2

This is the smallest of Ramsey's parks, and it is proposed that this
site be cleaned up and left as is. However, consideration should
be given to making this site into a tot lot to serve area youngsters.

Sports Haven

This is the second smallest of Ramsey's parks (1.9 acres) and has
two very small areas for access. Because of its location (being
surrounded by residents) and poor access, it is proposed that this
site be cleaned up and left as is.

Autumn Heights

At 52.2 acres, this site is the largest of Ramsey's parks. However,
only about 40% is usable for human activity (the remainder being
marshland). The usable land has been severly limited, due to the
bisection of Armstrong Boulevard dividing the area in two, and because
of the maze of park land corridors that divide each half into many
pieces. It is proposed then that the corridors be granted in easement
to the neighboring residents, or sold outright to them. It is also
proposed that the three remaining parts of the park "complex" be
groomed and ready for development at the site stage of development.

Deerwood

This 10.9 acre site has an access from 177th Avenue N.W., near the
northwest corner of the city. Because this access is small, and
because the site is 95% wetland, it is proposed that the park remain
as is.

Shawn Acres

This site is 4.3 acres in size and abuts residential property on the
north and south sides. The site has minimal improvements now, and
it is proposed that the site be groomed and reshaped by possibly a
terrace to the downward sloping east half. This would aid in expand-
ing recreational facilities on the site.

Caroline Acres

This relatively small 2.4 acre site (like Deerwood) is about 90%
wetland. Access to the site is very poor--from a small corner of
178th Lane near the northwest corner of the city. It is proposed
that the site be left as is.

- 23 -
