MeetinE was called to order 'by Chairman Ken Peterson st 7:30p. m. <br />with the following in s. ttendance: <br /> <br />Kenneth Peterson Bra~ Bodle Also Present: ' <br />A1 Sorteberg Ron West Dexter Marston <br />Kathy Schneider Art Dunn Peter Raatikka <br /> <br />Item.1 Conditional Use Permit - John Kovar Mfg~ Public Hearing. <br />Mr. Mike Kovar was present ',to request a C.U.P. to allow them to'-build <br />a '15,500 Square foot addition to Kovar. Mfg. at 6043 HWy.#10. There <br />would not be any cars or storage in-front and this. would only be a <br />temporary measure and they wilif, ev~h~tuatty, have. ~o'r~locate. The- <br />property has already been purchased from Mrs~ Guy and there-'.is'lafid - <br />left behind for a future service road, Art Dunn questioned' 'the to- <br />cation of the' .septic:system 'for. Guy Trucking; and it will have ~to:~be: <br />determined if buildin~ on the'new:parcel,'wili affect it. ,A~t Dunn.- <br />explained that there will be: 'a need for~ltWO 'variances; one-variance to <br />Mrs. Guy to-sell a oarcel by metes-and bounds, and a variance to'Kovar, <br />Mfg. to allow the' 5 foot setback. Public Hearing closed 7:45. <br /> <br />Item 2. Urban Develooment Permit' - Ramsey Dental Clinic- Public Hearing. <br />Dr.'s Anderson and. Austin were present to request a U.D.P. for their <br />dental clinic to be located on County Road #5 between the Municipal <br />Building and 153rd Ave~ <br /> <br />Pete Rsatikka read' the EngJ_neer's Report and in response to a question <br />regarding the drainage in' the future, replied that it~ appears adequate <br />unless topography is altered. Dr. Anderson stated his intent to pay <br />~ the cost of !52nd Lane at time of construction. ~Pubiic_ Hearing Closed <br />8:O0 p.m. <br />Item 3. Variance Request - Virgil Johnson .. <br />Mr. Johnson was present to 'reouest a varianc~ to allow him to sub- <br />diVid8 a ~ot by metes and bounds. The lot would be Lot 2, Block 2 <br />~,¥hispering Pines Estate Plat 4. If the variance is granted, Mr. <br />Johnson agrmes to remove an e?.~isting pole barn on ,the property. <br /> <br />Motion by Ron '#est, seconded by Kathy Schneider to reco.~mend to the <br />City Council to grant a variance to Virgil Johnson to allo~, a sub- <br />division by metes and bounds of.lot 2, block 2, Whispering Pines <br />Estates Plat 4 subject to .removal of exmstmng pole barn into '2 lots <br />¥~ith one lot being an .acre in size and one lot of less than one acre. <br />Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />Motion by Ron West, seconded by Kathy Schneider to r~ecommend to the <br />City Council to grant a variance to Virgil Johnson to allow a building <br />permit for a lot deficient in size as per ordinance. Motion carried <br />6-0. Ce~"tificste of Survey was not presented. <br />Co~mission action on John Kovar Mfg. request. <br />Art Dunn expressed concern over granting the conditional use permit <br />to allow an addition to an existing non ~onforming use when 'relocation <br />is ,already bein~ planned for. The main concern of the Commission was <br />ho~. to prevent future non-conforming uses in the e~ent the 'buildings <br /> change hands through sale or lease; and as this request is for an <br /> <br /> <br />
