Mr. Start re~lied that the Metro Council <br />Would give approval, and that the City could request an extension. <br />Mr. $%arr stated that be realized that the City doesn't want to <br />spend funds and effort on plannin~ that may be obsolete. <br /> <br />I~ ~mswer to a ~:uestion from Art Dunn, Mr. Start stated that the <br />~64 ~odest cost housing apD!ied to the next ten years and there <br />would probably be a fiFure for the following ten years. <br /> <br />Mr. Scbnelle stated tha~ he felt if we examine our present housing~ <br />we may have a!resdy met the necessary requirements. <br /> <br />Pete Raatikka stated that we have already started with the necessary <br />zoning. <br /> <br />Ken ~eterson stated that he felt this was a frustrating discussion~ <br />since the ~!an is still belng held up, and we are being asked to <br />smend ~ore money. <br /> <br />M~. Starr said that he understood that we should not be forced into <br />olanning if the Metro Council could not provide main guidelines, and <br />tb~t they woul~ be interested in coming back in a couo!e of months. <br /> <br />Al. SorteberF asked if sev.~er was re.~uir~d for the motest cost housing, <br />and if there was a break down on owne~ or rented units. Mr. Cosby <br />stated that se'.,.'er was not necessary, ~.nd. there wasn't any ratio of <br />owned ~.n~~. rented. <br /> <br />Mr. Starr also discussed the need for a transportation and thorough- <br />fare mortion of the Plan in which we have to consi;;er the possibility <br />of having to assume responsibility for /,~47~ and its' relationshi~ <br />to our business district, and capacity. M~yor Cox explained that <br />the City Engineer is presently addressing this problem. <br /> <br />Item ~. Jack Menkve!d's Peouest for Rezonin~. <br />The Comr~ission was informed that the reason this item was being <br />~ea~Jdressed was that the boundaries on the original request had <br />been changed. Jack Menkveld was present with a sketch plan for <br />the new area, exmlaining that it will be used for service type <br />industrial and small manufacturing. <br /> <br /> <br />
