ar Council Meeting <br />April 23, 1979 Page 11 <br /> <br />Mr. Long expressed his disgust toward an assessment, he feels he already <br />paid for blacktop in his development and shouldn't have to pay again. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that Council will meet the evening of April 30th at <br />the Special Meeting to discuss other alternatives and asked that anyone <br />with input should put it in writing and send it to Council by April 27th. <br /> <br />STREET IMPROVEMENT REGARDING ADVERTISING'FOR'BIDS'FOR WHISPERING PINES <br /> <br />ESTATES PLAT #3 <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by CounCilman Mickelson to table <br />advertising for bids for Whispering Pines #3 until the May 14, 1979 Council <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Zuni-Street'(]service <br />road) that will serve the Ramsey'Sho~@ers Ma!l~ Mr..JohniRiceilAttorne~i·' <br />Shelard Park, was representi.ng Mr, Cable~' <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding Mr. Cable's Shoppi.ng. Center and. thelinsta!lat!on · <br />of the street. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox asked Mr. Cable if he'had experienCed any ~roblemS w~th.the~Cits <br />regarding his shopping center'~roposa!. <br /> <br />Mr. Cable answered that he hasn't had any problems.with the!-municiPalit~ u~ <br />to this point. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said it is the Council's intention'to extend,the~Street behind his.' <br />proposed Shopping Center. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox said he understood that Mr, Cable wanted to build his.cente~ to <br />front on Highway 47 but that the'better'part of'his buying t~affic.Will~come <br />off the back roads. In the future years it is doubtful~-that thelState~Wil! <br />allow access onto Highway 47 in that area because Of'thelBri.dge CrosSi.ng the <br />Rum River. <br /> <br />Mr. Cable questioned why the Council wahted to retain so much land for]thelstreet <br />setback but that it did not really matter, his main concern waS 'the direction <br />the center is going to face. <br /> <br />Councilman Sorteberg said that traffic would all be on the proposed street, <br /> <br />Councilman Cox said Mr. Cable would haVe more exposure' if he'located'the' <br />building on Zuni Street because the City isn't encouraging too]much cQmme~cial <br />development on Highway 10 it is all in the southea~t'corne~-of the City,~ The <br />Council didn't, want t~ see it,]buil~on~for'today but for 30 to 40 Years dQwn the <br />line. He explained the 9eneral location of future signalization and that it <br />could possibly cutoff the access of the Center on Highway 47. <br /> <br />Mr Cable said he could see the point but lessees look at your present traffic <br />pa~tern. <br /> <br /> <br />
