that two quotes were received by City Staff; one from Lemar Tree Spades, Alberta, Canada, in <br />the amount of $35,800 USD and the other from St. Joseph Equipment, Elk River, Minnesota, in <br />the amount of $32,935. He noted that both quotes include sales tax and delivery. <br />Councihnember Elvig indicated the City does a lot of business with St. Joseph.Equipment. The <br />Finance Committee recommends authorizing the purchase of a tree spade from St. Joseph <br />Equipment for the amount of $32,935. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to authorize the purchase <br />of a tree spade from St. Joseph Equipment, Elk River, Minnesota, for the amount .of$32,935. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councihnembers Elvig, Cook, Pearson, Strommen, <br />and Zimmennan. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Kurak. <br /> <br />3) Authorize Purchase and Installation of Fencing and Lighting for <br />Police Impound Lot <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig stated that three vehicles in the possession of the police department were <br />recently broken into and damaged while being stored next to the. Public Works buildings. He <br />stated damage to one vehicle was approximately $900 and another vehicle had damage in the <br />amount of approximately $700; the City will be required to cover these losses. <br /> <br />Councihnember Elvig stated the Police Departrnent is requesting the installation of a fence and <br />lighting on the City property north of 142'~d Avenue and west of Jasper Street. The property <br />would be used solely as an impound lot for the Police Department's seized vehicles. He stated <br />the City has received a quote in the amount of $5,100.00 for installation of the fence and <br />lighting. He indicated the proposed location would allow officers to check the vehicles more <br />frequently, provide increased security for the officers, and free up parking space in the public <br />works parking lot. The Finance Committee is recommending authorization to purchase and <br />install a fence and lighting on City property to be used as a Police Department impound lot, for <br />an amount not to exceed $5,100.00, with funding being obtained from the Council Contingency <br />Fund. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Pearson, ' to adopt Resolution <br />#04-07-181 to authorize the purchase and installation of a fence and lighting on City property to <br />be used as a Police Department impound lot, for an amount not to exceed $5,100.00, with <br />funding being obtained from the Equipment Revolving Fund. <br /> <br />Motion cm~'ied. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Elvig, Pearson, Cook, Strolnmen, <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None.
