Motion by Councihnember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman, to support the <br />closure of these median crossings and to require MnDOT to host an open house to present this to <br />the public. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Mayor Gamec stated it is important to obtain citizen input with respect to the <br />median crossings and did not feel it is appropriate for the City Council to support closure of the <br />median crossings prior to obtaining that input. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook withdrew the motion on the floor. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmennan, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to require MnDOT <br />to host an open house to present the proposed closure of Highway 10/169 median crossings <br />between signals at: Tungsten Street, Feldspar Street, Llama Street, midway between Traprock <br />Street and Armstrong Boulevard, the crossing west of Beatty Street, and the crossing at the west <br />end of'the weigh station, in order to obtain citizen input. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmernbers Zimmennan, Cook, Elvig, <br />Pearson, and Strommen. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmenqber Kurak. <br /> <br />8) Policy Regarding the Filling of Swimming Pools by City Staff <br /> <br />Councihnember Zimmennan reported that every year, the Ramsey Public Works and Rarnsey <br />Fire Department receive requests from residents asking if City Staff will fill their swimming <br />pools. These requests are turned down for several reasons, including costs of equipment rental, <br />scheduling, and the possibility of personal property damage. The Public Works Committee <br />recommends approval of a policy stating that City Staff does not fill residential Swi~m~ning pools. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilrnember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Elvig, to approve the policy <br />stating that City Staff does not fill residential swimming pools. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor.Gamec, Councilmembers Cook, Elvig, Pearson, Strommen, <br />and Zimmennan. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Kurak. <br /> <br />9) Review Policy on Placement of Temporary Signs <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmennan reported this case was ratified at the June 22, 2004 City Council <br />meeting. No action is required. <br /> <br />Case #6: <br /> <br />Request for a Conditional Use Permit for an Oversized Accessory Building; <br />Case of James and Diane Feigum <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik stated the City has received an application from James <br />and Diana Feigum fbr a conditional use permit to exceed the maximum alloWable square footage <br />for accessory buildings on properties between 1 and 1.99 acres as established in City Code on the <br /> <br />City Council/July 13, 2004 <br />Page 13 of 24 <br /> <br />P53 <br /> <br /> <br />
