Councilmcmber Kurak asked how many buses would be running.

Mr. Lutey replied the section of the report with the frequency schedule outlines the number of
buses. He would suggest they could run one of those routes at certain times of the day and likely
use four buses. They did make a couple of recommendations. The first was that the Northstar
Commuter coach make a stop at the RTC. The demand estimates assume there will be a transit
service for the Park and Ride.

Councihncmber Strommen asked if any metro transit routes were factored into the demand other
than Northstar.

Mr. Lutey replied the demand estimates are based on commuters and are population based.

Councilmen~ber Strommen noted a lot of Ramsey residents ride the 851 bus route.

Ms. Olsen noted the Council was distributed information on parking demand, which is a work in
process, h~formation will be determined based on what will happen in the RTC.

Mayor Gamec asked if federal grants could be used towards maintenance of the ramps.

Ms. Olsen replied most of the larger grants are for capital and they need to be creative to find
other fimds for the maintenance and operation of the ramps.

MAYOR AND COUNCIL

Nolle.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to adjourn the meeting.

Motion carried.

The City Council Work Session of the City Council adjourned at 6:55 p.m.

Respectfully ~ubmitted,

Carol Hamer
Record ing Secretary
TimeSaver Off Site Secretarial, Inc.

Iinistrator

City Council Work Session/July 27, 2004
