~~Y PLAT ED K~IISH
P & Z .Public Hearing ~
June 4~ ..!979

Mr. Nelson, 16950 Yttrium Street N.W., asked since Mr. Klemish's proposed plat
would have paved roads, what would happen to their development.

Chairman Ken Peterson told him that if they wanted blacktopped roads they
would have to petition the City Council.

Terry Parks, 160th lane N.W., asked if the City Engineer felt that Zirconium
was capable of handling this extra 'traffic.

Engineer Raatikka said that he reo~m~ded review of the condition of the street
in his report to the Planning & Zoning ComrRssion. He said the street will
require more maintenance with the additional traffic, but he feels it could
handle it. _

Mr. Parks said that maintenance on the road only lasts a few days as it is and
feels that with approximately 18 additional cars there would be a 'very serious
condition on that road. He felt from a planning standpoint they should not
start in the middle and work out.

Mr. Klemish informed them that their develop,~nt started right in the middle
and there was no access until he built his other plat.

Mr. Brown said that there are a lot of little children in Shady Lawn Estates
and a lot of traffic would be coming from the new plat and he didn't want to
see the additional traffic. He asked if Mr. Klemish had checked to see if
he could obtain some kind of easement for a road from the Keillors.

Mr. Klemish said that just would not be feasible, the City wouldn't pay to put
it in and he couldn't afford to put in a road for five miles.

Mr. Brown asked about the park along the river.

Mr. Klemish said that there wouldn't be any park there.

Mr. Swing~r, 159th Lane asked if there would be some way he could get an
easement for a road to County Road 5 or Highway 47.

Mr. Klemish replied, no, that he did not own the land. He said when Keillor's
want to sell and develop there would be a road going through to Highway 47.
He said if it had been for sale he would have bought it, but right now it isn't.

Someone in the audience stated that it was for sale now.

Mr. Klemish said that if it is for sale and he can buy. it for development he
probably will if he can come out on this development.

Chairman Ken Peterson noted that Mary ~eillor had submitted a letter in regard
to this plat showing no objection.

Chairman Ken Peterson called the Public Hearing closed at 8.: 15 P.M.

Rmspectfully submitted,

Arlene Peddycoart
Recording Secretary
