PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA' COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the Ramsey City. Council held a public <br />hearing at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boui~vardN;W., Ramsey, <br />Minnesota 55309 On'June 15, 1979. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Reimann <br />Councilman Mickelson <br />Councilman Sorteberg <br /> <br />Others Present: <br /> <br />City Adm. Schnelle <br />City Engineer Sha' <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Councilman Cox <br />Mayor Gamec <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Reimann called the public hearing to 6rder at 7:80 P.M. <br />He announced the purpose of'the hearing is to receive and. con~ider~ input <br />regarding the proposed rezoning request of'H. I. Jarnes'and Partners for' <br />a development they are calling Alpaca Estates~' ~his property is located' <br />on the south Side of State'Highway 10, the original owner was Bill Shenk. <br /> <br />Mr. Jeff Caine, Surveyor, Caine g O'Malley, appeared 6n'behalf of Alpaca <br />Estates; Mr. James arrived a short time later~. Mr. Caine exPlained'the.~ <br />request which entails the rez0ning ofthe'property from Industrial along <br />Highway 10 to B-1 and from Industmial toward the' Mississippi River'to"Resi- <br />dential. <br /> <br />Discussion was held concerning the one-acre lots propossd for"the Commercial, <br />B-1 proposed area along Highway i0. <br /> <br />Administrator Schnelle reported that the lot size questions has been <br />before the Economic Development committee and the'Planning Commission'. <br />The Planning Commission'will give their recommendations to the~Council <br />in July. <br /> <br />Mr. James Martin, owner of the farm onthe.east side of thiS proposal off <br />of Highway 10 to the south, states'be'doesn't disagree'With:thelcondep% <br />at all, however, he wonders if 250 foot'lot,'are deep'enOngh.' <br /> <br />Mr. Ben Deemer, Planning Commission. member, stated' that he is working on' <br />the industrial and commercial lot'sizeS'and he personally'thinks that some <br />of the lots as proposedon'the'plan, might not be'usable'between'business <br />and residential because of'the'setbacks that will'be requibed~ He is in <br />favor of the concept but would like'to'see~this not'cast in granite until they <br />have time to make some definite'decision~ on'the'lot'sizeS'.', <br /> <br />There was :no further citizen input. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Sorteberg, seconded by Councilman Mickelson~to Close the <br />public hearing. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br />ALPACA ESTATES <br /> (1) <br />6/25/79 <br /> <br /> <br />
