corporate limits are in conflict with streets in the City of Ramsey,
existing Ramsey plats, etc.

Motion carried. 6-0.

COMVlENT REGARDING MARSTON ' S MEMO 'ON ' INDUSTRIAL 'CLASSIFICATIONS

Chairman Peterson asked Ben Deemer to explain why he felt it would be
best for the City to proceed with his committee's recommended classifications.

Ben Deemer replied that to use their method, with the criteria they have
compiled, would allow the City to have a reasonable amount of industrial
development where sewer doesn't exist and to follow Dexter's suggestion would
eliminate any development in those areas. Solid wastes that have to be
trucked out and can't go down the sewer can be handled through this method.
The setbacks would protect the residents from heavier or undesirable
operations taking place too close to residential or other businesses.
This method of classification could be implemented at the time the site
plan for development is submitted and reviewed.

Ben Deemer is to collect the information 'in a complete, concise manner and
present it to the City Council in the form of a report at the January
meeting.

Motion by Kathleen Schneider and seconded by Ron West to adjourn the meeting.

Motion carried. 6-0.

Adjournment 9:12 P.M.

Respectfully submitted,

Arlene Peddycoart
Planning Aide

NOTE:

To the City Council - The P & Z Commission would like to advise
that they are in concurrence with the Alternate #3 proposed' Rum
River Bridge Crossing as discussed at the Council's November 26, 1979
meeting.

P&Z
Regular Meeting - 12/3/79

Page 4
