Mayor Gamec said iff anyone has any suggestions for projects for this <br />program, let City Administrator Schnelle know so the council can establish <br />priorities. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox said-there are things that can be done to develop the <br />Industrial Park and stimulate jobs. <br /> <br />~a) Tungsten, Front Stree~and Rivlyn Avenue Proposed Streeet and <br /> <br />Storm Drainag~ Improvement <br /> <br />Councilman Sorteberg said it appeared that the neighbors on Rivlyn Avenue <br />didn't want to spend any money. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said the biggest problem o£ working in that area is that <br />possibly in 1982 the sewer will be coming in and if the city puts in <br />the~streets there to standard now, it will have to tear them up again <br />in 1982. The city cannot even patch Tungsten any more. The main <br />thing is to get the water off Tungsten. <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka said it has to be graded so that it would all <br />drain. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox said he was told the work done beffore would take care <br />o£ the problem, but it appears that it did not. He questioned if <br />there would be a way that the city could ditch the north end of Tungsten <br />Street to provide a place for the water to run off. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said the corner of Rivlyn Avenue and Tungsten Street <br />filled up 6 to 8" deep. <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka said the main sewer trunk would not come through <br />Tungsten Street. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox asked if there would be no problem then to upgrading <br />Tungsten Street with the assurance o£ not having to tear up Tzmgsten Street. <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka said part o£ Tungsten would have to be tore up. <br />Tungsten Street could possibly be overlayed and it would last a couple <br />years. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox said the council is not in a position to say go ahead and <br />do it because they do not know for sure about sewer & water coming in. <br />It doesn't make much sense to tear up a street to serve an outlet. <br />The council would have to look at who would be assessed: the property <br />owners who abut there or the whole project. To say the city could <br />assess them and say that it would be a benefit to the area would be <br />hard to do because o£ the facts that are known now. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec recommended City Engineer Raatikka and the Street Superintendent <br />look at the possibility of ditch work and putting in some type of surface <br />to cover holes, etc. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox said if something is going to be d~ne, it should be done soon. <br /> <br />C/September 23, 1980 <br /> Pa~e $ <br /> <br /> <br />
