PUBLIC HEARING <br />Board o£ Adjustment <br /> City of Ramsey <br />Anoka County <br />State of Minnesota <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and'notice thereof, the Ramsey City Council held a <br />Board of Adjustment meeting regarding August E. Grosslein request for <br />variance on sign setback on October 14, 1980, at the Ramsey Municipal <br />Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilman Sorteberg <br />Councilman Reimann <br />Councilman Mickelson <br />Councilman Cox <br /> <br />Councilman Mickelson called the meeting to order at 9:20 P.M. <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle said Mr. Grosslein is requesting a variance <br />on his sign that faces Tungsten Street N.W., and is located in the <br />street. He said the minimum setback is five (5) feet of any property <br />line. He said the sign doesn"t interfere with anything. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox said he didn't have any problem with the sign the way <br />it is right now. It is on the city right-of-way and he didn't know if <br />there was a legal problem there. <br /> <br />Councilman Mickelson pointed out that if there is ever an accident <br />involving the sign when it is in the city's right-of-way, it would <br />present a liability problem for the city. <br /> <br />Bull_ding Official Berg said he didn't know exactly where the right-of- <br />way line was. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor .Gamec and seconded by Councilman Cox to close the <br />Board of Adjustment Public Hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes-Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Mickelson and Cox. Voting no-None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Sorteberg to <br />grant a variance on August Grosslein sign setback that he may have a <br />zero lot line setback. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes-Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Mickelson and Cox. Voting no-None. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor' Gamec and seconded by Councilm~n Mickelson to adjuurn <br />the Board of Adjustment. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
