I
I

Commissioner Dunn stated that the signatures on the petition are in a 4 block
radius of Mr. Reinke's residence and those families to the west would not be
affected by Mr. Reinke's business because of his proximity to County Rd. #83.

Marguerite Henke mentioned that she lives directly across the street from
Mr. Henke and she did not receive a Notice of Public Hearing.

Mr. Berg stated that the City gets it's mailing lists from County Tax Records.

Mr. Reinke stated that he was advised not to install a culvert at his second
driveway, that he does have a culvert on order and is willing to install it.
He stated that the bobcat loader is stored on the ground, rather than on the
truck, as a precautionary measure for children.

Larry Henke - 8062 154th Avenue - Mr. Reinke's vehicles have come into the
neighborhood loaded with dirt and have left that way, and I don't think our
streets were constructed so as to withstand that type of load.

Mr. Reinke stated that he did haul some dirt in, but for his own personal
landscaping. He also stated that he was advised not to exit his vehicles
from the property through the ditch so he brought in some broken up blacktop
to fill in soft areas of his driveway. When he got the load of blacktop
home it was evening and rather than disturb his neighbors, he waited until
morning to unload it. The next morning the blacktop had hardened and he had
to chop it out of the truck, which only took about an hour.

Commissioner Dunn stated that it was mentioned that Mr. Reinke has 16 pieces
of equipment elsewhere, but that the permit was for 4 pieces of equipment.

Mr. Reinke replied that the other equipment is left at job sites, the permit
would be for two trucks, a bobcat and a Ford tractor. The 4 snow blades
will be installed on the trucks and will remain on trucks for the duration
of the permit.

Lee Ann Shriver - ~hy doesn't Mr. Reinke store these 4 pieces of equipment
wherever he has the other 16 pieces s. tored?

I
I
!
I
I
I
I

Scott Lemmon - 8120 154th Lane - My property is located behind Mr. Reinke,
I work second shift and am home days and I have not heard anything out of
the ordinary as far as noise is concerned. If the fence is completed and
the vehicles are out at 8:00 A.M. and returned by evening, there should be
no problem.

Mr. Reinke stated that his welding is by electrical current supplied to the
residence and only used welder to install snow blades, which is now complete.

Herb Johnston - After signing the petition, I talked to Mr. Reinke. I was
under the impression that Mr. Reinke would be running a full time business
from his residence. He has posed no problem to me as far as noise pollution.
I am requesting that n~ name be removed from the petition because Mr. Reinke
is trying to improve the situation and the permit would only be for 6 months.

Commission removed Mr. Herb Johnston's name from petition.

Marguerite Henke - Mr. Reinke's fence does not prevent children from getting
onto the property. His business does affect me and my household. At the
time the petition was circulated,it was not known that the business was to
be temporary. Mr. Reinke's business was changed to temporary after 26 families

P & Z/November 3, 1982
Public Hearing
