I
I

I
I
I
:1
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
!
I

Marguerite Henke - 8062 154th Avenue N.W. - Stated that she lives directly
across the street from Mr. Reinke and that his business has caused considerable
problems for her family. She stated that Mr. Reinke has 3-5 employees who
arrive every day. There is a lot of equipment on the property -- 4 trucks,
bobcat, couple of pickups, 2 personal vehicles, 4 snow blades. Equipment is
being maintained out of his garage or on the driveway area. I have seen them
chopping asphalt out of the truck, welding and installing snow blades onto
trucks. His maintenance is visible from my picture window and his business
is depreciating the value of my property. If the City approves this permit,
you would be setting a precedent. I am also concerned about safety of children
in the area. Noise level in neighborhood has increased. There is no culvert
at Mr. Reinke's second driveway and in the Spring the run-off will drain onto
my property.

Steve Philaja - Mr. Reinke's attorney - It is important to note that this is
only a temporary permit. The equipment is going to be used for snowplowing
this winter, and in the Spring it will either be sold or removed. The
equipment on Mr. Reinke's property now is the remnants of a landscaping
business he used to be in. I know that at least one of the families who
signed the petition is at this meeting tonight and now supports Mr. Reinke's
request for a conditional use permit.

Ron Knott - 8321 154th Lane - I wish to have my name removed from the protest
petition. After personally viewing Mr. Reinke's property, I have no valid
reason for my name to be on the peitition.

Commission deleted Mr. Ron Knott's signature from petition.

Herb Johnston 8131 154th Lane - Is this business going to involve storage
of any type of fuel or oil on the Reinke property?

Mr. Reinke replied that it would not, except for a certified pumper in the
box of his pickup.

Don Volner - 8121 154th Lane - I live next door to Mr. Reinke and.I don't
foresee any problems, especially if it is only a 6 month permit. I have
young children that play at Mr. Reinke's residence, and they have not been
injured in any way.

Dennis Stulc - 8120 154th Avenue - According to my notice of public hearing,
it states that the conditional use permit is to store equipment, but Mr.
Reinke's equipment has been used on a day-to-day basis. I would not like to
see the Commission grant this permit.

Ms. Schneider - I have a copy of the Conditional Use Permit Application and
it does state "to run a business out of his home, temporarily." The coming
and going of equipment is a known fact to the Commission.

Chairman Peterson stated that the Commission was not aware of the extent to
which Mr. Reinke is maintaining equipment on his property.

Commissioner Dunn inquired if there were any other individuals who requested
their name be removed from the petition, once all the facts were known.

Marguerite Henke - Stated that three (3) other persons requested their names
be removed from petition.

P & Z/November 3, 1982
Public Hearing
