STEPHAN <br /> INTERTEC Senior Scientist <br /> EDUCATION <br /> Bachelor of Arts Degree,Chemistry,1985, Mr. Stephan has over twenty-five years of environmental consulting experience on <br /> University of Minnesota,Minneapolis, various projects relating to Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, environmental <br /> Minnesota compliance audits, underground storage tank investigations, and industrial hygiene. <br /> CERTIFICATIONS Prior to his work as an environmental consultant, he spent four years as a research <br /> OSHA 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations chemist for an international chemical research and development corporation. <br /> Certification(29 CFR 1910.120) <br /> PROJECT EXPERIENCE <br /> National Radon Proficiency Program(NRPP) <br /> Radon Testing Certification Central Corridor Light Rail Transit Corridor(CCLRT), Minneapolis to St. Paul, <br /> Minnesota. Retained by the Metropolitan Council Metro Transit to perform a <br /> Phase I ESA of an approximate 9.8 mile locally preferred alignment of the <br /> CCLRT between downtown Minneapolis to downtown St. Paul.The purpose of <br /> the Phase I was to identify,to the extent possible, any sources of <br /> contamination (based on present or former land use)on properties that could <br /> impact construction of the CCLRT.The project corridor included one alternative <br /> alignment between Oak Street and 29th Avenue SE in Minneapolis, and two <br /> between Cedar and Wacouta in St. Paul. Mr.Stephan was the project manager <br /> for the project. His specific responsibilities included client interaction and <br /> correspondence, managing the project schedule and budget, coordinating site <br /> access, and report review and quality control. <br /> Multi-state—Mr.Stephan has managed and/or completed several multi-site <br /> Phase I Environmental Site Assessment projects.Specific projects have included <br /> 25 multi-family apartment buildings located primarily in the southeastern <br /> United States; 18 multi-family apartment buildings located in California;23 <br /> bank branches located in the Western United States;45 motels in twenty <br /> different states; 30 fast food restaurants in six Midwestern states;and 48 <br /> apartments located in ten states.These multi-state projects were completed <br /> within 21 to 45 days of authorization and many required asbestos testing <br /> services. <br /> Commercial—He has managed and/or completed numerous Phase I and Phase <br /> I environmental site assessments of commercial properties including industrial, <br /> office,warehouse, manufacturing, and retail facilities.The projects were <br /> completed in strict accordance with the ASTM Standard Practice for <br /> Environmental Site Assessments: Phase I Environmental Site Assessment <br /> Process. Some of these projects required asbestos testing, underground <br /> storage tank evaluation, or property condition reports. <br />
