PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br /> PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A public hearing by the Ramsey Planning and Zoning Commission was held on <br />Tuesday, June 7, 1983 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. <br />N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota, regarding request for a Conditional Use Permit; <br />Case of Faith Baptist Church of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mr. Kenneth Peterson, Chairman <br />Mr. Robert Isakson <br />Ms. Kathy Schneider <br />Mr. Ben Deemer <br />Mr. Gerald Zimmerman (arrived at 7:30 p.m.) <br />Mr. Charles LaDue (arrived at 7:25 p.m.) <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Building Official Clayton Berg <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson called the public hearing to order at 7:35 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Reed, representing Faith Baptist, gave a summary of the church's past <br />efforts to appropriate land in Ramsey for the new church. The proposed <br />location at this time is Cty. Rd. #5 and Sunfish Blvd. <br /> <br />Arnie Cox - Nowthen Blvd. - Stated that he feels the proposed location is <br />an excellent site for the church, that a church to some degree is a business <br />and the exposure at the proposed location would be very beneficial to the <br />church. <br /> <br />Commissioner Schneider inquired if the church anticipated any increase of <br />activities. <br /> <br />Mr. Reed replied that the plans provide for a seating capacity of 232 and <br />do not foresee a real increase in activities. <br /> <br />A parishioner of Faith Baptist stated the current facility is being used <br />several nights a week for church and civic oriented organizations and <br />that will continue. <br /> <br />Mr. Reed stated that he does not know how the old church is to be used, <br />that would be a corporate decision.
