Letter To District Court. Judge And Ramsey__City Council: <br /> <br />Commissioner Buchanan stated that he has prepared a letter to be forwarded to <br />the District Court Judge and Ramsey City Council stating that the Ramsey Charter <br />Commission has established rules and procedures and quorum. Commissioner <br />Buchanan then read the proposed letter aloud and the Commission was in agreement <br />with the letter. <br /> <br />Attorney Dorn inquired if Charter Commission members oaths have been filed with <br />the Clerk of District Court. <br /> <br />Commissioner Gamec replied that he assumed the City Attorney in Ramsey had <br />done so. <br /> <br />Commissioner Lichter stated that he would make sure the oaths have been filed. <br /> <br />B. Amend The Various Information Committees To Become Sub-Committees: <br /> <br />Commission consensus is to take no action. <br /> <br />C. Clarification Of "Simple Majority" (Page ~, Paragraph 5 of June 2, 1983 <br /> Minutes): <br /> <br />Attorney Dorn stated that "simple majority" means that a motion is passed by <br />a majority of those members present. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Buchanan and secondedby Commissioner Sieber that the <br />rules read that any motion to be passed must be passed by a simple majority <br />of the entire Charter Commission. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Heitman, Commissioners Sieber, Buchanan, <br />Bauerkemper, Greenberg, Lichter, Gamec, Data and Titterud. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />D. Amend Membership List To Include All "Work Phone Numbers": <br /> <br />Chairman Heitman noted that his phone number at work is 854-6789. <br /> <br />Miscellaneous <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Titterud and seconded by Commissioner Bauerkemper to <br />request City Staff post permanent notification at Ramsey City Hall noting <br />Charter Commission regular meetings be set for the 2nd and 4th Thursday of <br />the month. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Heitman, Commissioners Sieber, Buchanan, <br />Bauerkemper, Greenberg, Lichter, Gamec, Data and Titterud. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />E. Introduce Rules Committee Speaker <br /> <br />Commissioner Licther introduced Bill Dorn, Attorney. <br /> <br />Mr. Dorn stated that he has had a law practice in Anoka for 10 years, that <br />he has served as Ham Lake's City Attorney since 1977 and prior to practicing <br />law he served as an urban planner. <br /> <br />CC/June 9, 1983 <br /> Page 3 of 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
