I

I
I
I
I
I
I
I

I
I

Some discussion ensued regarding the adequacy of the on-site septic system
on the Gilbertson property.

Mr. Berg stated that in as much as the proposed Side Door Lounge is a food
service business, the septic system would fall under County jurisdiction.

Commissioner Zimmerman stated that the Mayor commented, at the June 6 meeting,
that P & Z does not take taxing into consideration when making decisions.

Commissioner Schneider stated that the overall concept of Ramsey's ordinances
is to provide adequate tax base and if we comply with our ordinances, we
should arrive at that point. Commissioner Schneider further commented that
P & Z does consider taxing when making decisions.

Commissioner Isakson inquired if the purpose of the June 6, 1983 joint
meeting was accomplished and how this meeting actually came about.

Councilmember Schlueter, who was present, stated that she requested this
joint meeting because she felt there was a need for some communication
between Council and Commissions, especially P & Z. She stated that we
all know the direction the City is going and sometimes we assume we are
all working in the same direction when, in fact, we are not.

Commissioner Schneider agreed that the time to communicate is before there
is a problem.

Chairman Peterson stated that he felt the meeting adjourned with a feeling
of frustration. He also stated that there was a feeling of putting the
past behind us and proceeding With a positive approach.

Chairman Peterson requested some direction regarding the applicants for
the opening on the P & Z Commission and stated that he knows for sure of
two more applicants who wish to be interviewed.

Commission consensus is to readvertise in order to be fair, especially if an
interested person found Out that applications were taken beyond the deadline
noted in the ad.

Chairman Peterson volunteered to attend the special Council meeting on June 14,
1983.

Commissioner Schneider volunteered to attend the regular Council meeting
on June 28, 1983.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Commissioner Schneider and seconded by Commissioner Isakson to
adjourn the meeting.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Peterson, Commissioners Isakson,
Schneider, Deemer, Zimmerman and LaDue. Voting No: None.

The regular meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission adjourned at 9:00
p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Sylvia Frokik, Secretary

Lloyd G.
