Weed seed and pollen do not necessarily come from <br />your neighbors property, it can travel in the'air for miles. <br /> <br />Warren Rumsch - 9053 Collins Drive - Ramsey needs to encourage wildlife habitat <br />and consider Ramsey a unique area. ~ <br /> <br />Resident - 15830 Radium - What is the estimated cost to enforce this ordinance? <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer stated that the City could not even begin to enforce it. <br /> <br />Mrs. Robertson - 15826 Radium - This area is particularly under attack because <br />of one neighbor and she is very persistent. As per the City's direction, I <br />have mowed down wild roses, grapevines and raspberries. <br /> <br />Mr. Connolly - 16235 Kamacite - If this ordinance isn't changed, would a precedent <br />be set and the City be obligate to mow. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle stated that he has requested removing this portion of the ordinance <br />two years ago. <br /> <br />Mr. Connolly - How are incoming telephone complaints handled? Suggested that <br />maybe a lot of complaints would be eliminated if the citizen who is in violation <br />was informed of who is doing the complaining. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle stated that the City has not been enforcing the ordinance unless <br />there were noxious weeds involved and the City does not want to start neighbor- <br />hood wars by making the complainants name known. <br /> <br />Resident - 15830 Radium - Stated that the discussion should get-back to <br />the issue and further noted that he enjoys the ecological balance in Ramsey <br />and that his children have had the opportunity to enjoy more birds, wildflowers, <br />etc. since living in Ramsey. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer suggested deleting 'Growing Grass' from the ordinance and <br />incorporating 'Noxious Weeds' into the Nuisance Ordinance. -- <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Schneider and-seconded by Commissioner Deemer to delete <br />Paragraph 110.143 "Growing Grass" from Cha~Pter 110.14 of the City Code, to <br />incorporate Paragraph 110.141 "Definition" and Paragraph 110.142 "Noxious Weeds" <br />into the Nuisance Ordinance, contingent upon City Staff determining this an <br />acceptable solution. <br /> <br /> Motion carried.
