The sign inventory has been
listed by each street. Please review this material as soon as possible in order
that I can make any necessary revisions and submit it to the MnDOT District Traffic
Engineer for review and approval in the next couple weeks.

In general, traffic signing in the City of Ramsey is in excellent condition and
has been installed and maintained in conformance with the Minnesota Manual on
Uniform Traffic Control Devices. This is evidenced by the low number of signs
which I am recommending for installation and/or replacement. However, I would
recommend the following four {4) items for consideration based on my observations:

The following streets appear to be through-type streets, functionally classi-
fied~as collector or arterial streets, and I would recommend the installation
of STOP signs on all local streets intersecting these streets. Below are
listed the streets, the termini, and the number of stop signs needed if each
is classified as a through street. If any or all of these are through streets
already or if you wish them to be designated as such, I'll add the appropriate
number of STOP signs to the Materials Needs Summary.

a)
b)
c)
d)
e)

153rd Ave. N.W. - from Puma to Armstrong Blvd. (10)
153rd Ave. N.W. - from Nowthen Blvd. to Roanoke (7)
161st Ave. N.W. - from Llama to Variolite {4)
167th Ave. N.W. - from Nowthen Blvd. to St. Francis Blvd. {7)
Variolite St. N.W. - from 155th Ave. to 173rd Ave. (11)

Where existing or developing subdivision streets terminate at the plat
boundary, to be extended into future adjacent subdivisions, and no temporary
turn-around or cul-de-sac is provided, a Type III barricade with a 48" x 30"
ROAD CLOSED sign mounted on the barricade should be installed at the end of

keith caswell jr.
