March 1, 1980 ..,.~) <br />send to: <br /> Minnesota Department of Transportation <br /> State Bikeway Program Manager <br /> <br /> 807 Transportation Building <br /> St, Paul, Minnesota 55155 <br /> <br />evaluation of project <br /> <br />Applications for projects which meet the following <br />criteria shall receive priority over similar projects <br />that do not: <br /> <br />Projects proximating a "poor" or <br />"unsatisfactory" existent road (as rated by <br />Mn/DOT for bicycle travel based on the charts <br />in the Bikeway Design Considerations) and for <br />which there is no suitable alternate, route. <br /> <br />Projects which provide a system of bicycle <br />transportation (or constitute a segment of <br />such a system) to either existent or proposed <br />areas of: educational or economic interest, <br />cultural, natural, scientific or historical <br />significance, as well as, population centers. <br /> <br />· Projects which are readily accessible to the <br /> traveling public. <br /> <br />· Projects consistent with local land use. <br /> <br />Projects which benefit the traveling public <br />through elimination of hazards and minimize <br />multi-use conflicts. -~ <br /> <br />· Projects which provide for ease of mainte- <br /> nance and operation. <br /> <br />Upon completion of the review process, Mn/DOT <br />will notify all applicants as to their status and <br />subsequent action to be taken. <br /> <br /> <br />
