Anoka, Minnesota 55303 Re: Proposal on Alternative Airport Site Study for the City of Ramsey Dear Mr. Schnelle:~ This letter is in response to your request for a proposal to evaluate an alterna- tive airport site in the City of Ramsey. In January, 1979, the "Site Study Report for the City of Ramsey Gateway North Industrial Airport" was completed with the conclusion that it did not appear feasible to upgrad~ the present facility to current State and Federal standards. It further recommended, in view of the demonstrated need for a publicly-owned airport in the Ramsey area, that a search be made for ah alternative site. Therefore, the City of Ramsey selected an alternative site, immediately west of the Gateway North facility, for evaluation. The site is located immediately north of the Burlington Northern railroad tracks between County Roads #83 (Armstrong Boulevard) and #56 (Ramsey Boulevard). The proposed Alternative Airport Site Study would include the following tasks: The preparation of a topographic survey of the alternative airport site to establish horizontal and vertical ground control; The preparation of a schematic Airport Layout Plan illustrating and docu- menting the ability of the alternative site to accommodate the facility requirements in accordance with current State and Federal standards; The preparation of a conceptual land use plan for the proposed layout plan; and The preparation of the Alternative Site Study Report (25 copies) to present and summarize the findings and recommendations. keith caswell jr.
