REPORT ON THE FEASIBILITY
FOR HALLAND ACRES
BITUMINOUS STREET PAVING

~cope:

The purpose of this report is to discuss the feasibility of providing bituminous
streets to serve the existing plat of Halland Acres. This report also provides
a~cursory review of the existing drainage system within the project area.

The project area lies within the SE~ of the NW~ of Section 24, Township 32 North,
Range 25 West, City of Ramsey, Anoka County, Minnesota.

The project, which lies approximately ¼ mile east of State Trunk Highway No. 47,
is generalqy bounded by 153rd Avenue N.W. on the south and the Woodland Green ?
Plat on the north as shown on Exhibit A.

_Existing ConditionS:

The present street network consists of a rural .street section with a gravel or-

sand surface approximately 26 to 30 feet in width~

The present'drainage system utilizes driveway culverts, drainage channel's and
ponding areas. A majority of the plat drains to the low area west of the plat,
with small portions of the plat draining unto 153rd Avenue N.W. and into the
Woodland Green Plat. The present system, although reviewed in a preliminary
manner, appears operational with the exception of occasional flooding of back
yards between 154th and 155th Lanes N.W. The ponding'sites and the road ditches
presently assimilate the storm water run-off into the ground by percolation.
While the existing ponds presently operate effectively, with an increase in

-1-
