City's original program for these single-family homes. Staff reviewed the request further and
recommended approval.
Citizen Input
Commissioner Bauer understood the license fees were for properties with no violations. He
questioned what the licensing fees would be if a property were to have a violation with the City.
Community Development Director Gladhill explained the license would not automatically renew
and therefore an additional $25 would be owed to the City, along with any fee associated to the
City citation/violation. In addition, depending on the violation, the City could elect to not renew
the rental license.
Motion by Commissioner Bauer, seconded by Commissioner Andrusko, to close the public
hearing.
Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Levine, Commissioners Bauer, Andrusko, Brauer,
Nosan, and VanScoy. Voting No: None. Absent: None.
Chairperson Levine closed the public hearing closed at 8:47 p.m.
Commission Business
Motion by Commissioner VanScoy, seconded by Commissioner Andrusko, to recommend that
City Council adopt Ordinance 16-09 amending the Rental Licensing Program to include a simple
registration for detached single-family and townhome dwellings.
Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Levine, Commissioners VanScoy, Andrusko, Bauer,
Brauer, and Nosan. Voting No: None. Staff reviewed the history of this property further with the
Commission and recommended the Preliminary Plat design proceed.
Commission Business
Commissioner VanScoy asked if the driveway length would be an issue if there were sidewalks.
Planning Commission/October 6,2016
