The purpose of this study was to determine whether this <br />airport would meet grant requirements for upgrading as a municipal <br />airport. The results of the above study Ludicated that the present <br />Gateway North Industrial Airport has serious ground Space limitations <br />to make development of this'airRort feasible'. <br /> <br />Consequently, the City Council has retained the firm of Consulting <br />Engineers Diversified to complete a feasibility study for relocation <br />of the Gateway North Industrial Airport. The alternate site proposed' <br />for the airport is located imm~diatelynorth of the Burlington Northern <br />tracks between County Roads #83 (Armstrong Blvd.) and #56 (Ramsey Blvd'.) <br /> <br />The proposed Alternative Airport Site Study would include the following <br />tasks: <br /> <br />1) -The preparation of a topographic s~rvey of the alternative airport <br /> site to establish horizontal and vertical ground control; <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />The preparation of a schematic Airport Layout Plan illustrating <br />and documenting the ability of the alternative site to accommodate <br />the facility requirements in accordance with current State and <br />Federal standards; <br /> <br />The preparation of a conceptual land use plan for the proposed <br />layout plan; and <br /> <br /> <br />
