09/22/16 REVISOR CKM/IL AR4240 <br />1.1 Department of Natural Resources <br />1.2 Adopted Permanent Rules Relating to Mississippi River Corridor Critical Area <br />1.3 6106.0010 POLICY. <br />1.4 It is in the interest of present and future generations to preserve and enhance the <br />1.5 natural, aesthetic, economic, recreational, cultural, and historical values of the Mississippi <br />1.6 River corridor within the Twin Cities metropolitan area and protect its environmentally <br />1.7 sensitive areas. In furtherance of the policies declared in Minnesota Statutes, chapters <br />1.8 116G, 394, 462, and 473, this chapter provides standards and criteria for the preservation, <br />1.9 protection, and management of the Mississippi River Corridor Critical Area. <br />1.10 6106.0020 PURPOSE; DESIGNATION. <br />1.11 The minimum standards and criteria in this chapter are provided for the subdivision, <br />1.12 use, and development of land within the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area, <br />1.13 established pursuant to United States Code, title 16, section 460k, which is designated <br />1.14 the Mississippi River Corridor Critical Area, according to the purposes described under <br />1.15 Minnesota Statutes, section 116G.15, subdivision 1. <br />1.16 6106.0030 SCOPE; OTHER LAW. <br />1.17 Subpart 1. Applicability. The standards and criteria established in this chapter for <br />1.18 the Mississippi River Corridor Critical Area pertain to public waters and to nonfederal <br />1.19 public land and private lands within the river corridor boundary. <br />1.20 Subp. 2. Government actions. The state and all local governments, including <br />1.21 councils, commissions, boards, districts, departments, and all other public authorities, <br />1.22 must exercise their powers to further the purposes of this chapter. <br />1.23 Subp. 3. State land. Land owned by the state and its agencies and subdivisions must <br />1.24 be administered according to this chapter. <br />6106.0030 1 Approved by Revisor <br />
