In case of a conflict between this chapter and any <br />2.2 other rule or ordinance, the more protective provision applies. <br />2.3 Subp. 5. Superseding standards. Specific standards found in this chapter supersede <br />2.4 parts 4410.8100 to 4410.9910 for management of the Mississippi River Corridor Critical <br />2.5 Area. <br />2.6 6106.0050 DEFINITIONS. <br />2.7 Subpart 1. Scope of terms and measurement of distances. For the purposes of <br />2.8 this chapter, the terms used have the meaning given in this part. All distances, unless <br />2.9 otherwise specified, are measured horizontally. <br />2.10 Subp. 2. Access path. "Access path" means an area designated to provide ingress <br />2.11 and egress to public waters. <br />2.12 Subp. 3. Adjacent. "Adjacent" means having a boundary that physically touches <br />2.13 or adjoins. <br />2.14 Subp. 4. Agricultural use. "Agricultural use" has the meaning given under <br />2.15 Minnesota Statutes, section 40A.02. <br />2.16 Subp. 5. Alternative design. "Alternative design" means subdivision design <br />2.17 methods such as conservation design, transfer of development density, or similar zoning <br />2.18 and site design techniques that protect open space and natural areas. <br />2.19 Subp. 6. Barge fleeting. "Barge fleeting" means temporarily parking and securing <br />2.20 barges on the river, on or off channel, while tows are assembled or broken up. <br />2.21 Subp. 7. Biological and ecological functions. "Biological and ecological functions" <br />2.22 means the functions of vegetation in stabilizing soils and slopes, retaining and filtering <br />2.23 runoff, providing habitat, and recharging groundwater. <br />2.24 Subp. 8.
