In all other areas of the Mississippi River Critical Corridor Area, storm water <br />59.2 runoff must be directed away from the bluff impact zone or unstable areas. <br />59.3 Subp. 8. Development on steep slopes. A local government may allow structures, <br />59.4 impervious surfaces, land alteration, vegetation removal, or construction activities on <br />59.5 steep slopes if: <br />59.6 A. the applicant can demonstrate that the development can be accomplished <br />59.7 without increasing erosion or storm water runoff; <br />59.8 B. the soil types and geology are suitable for the proposed development; and <br />59.9 C. vegetation is managed according to the requirements of this part. <br />59.10 Subp. 9. Compliance with other plans and programs. All development must: <br />59.11 A. be consistent with Minnesota Statutes, chapter 103B, and local water <br />59.12 management plans completed under chapter 8410; <br />59.13 B. meet or exceed the wetland protection standards under chapter 8420; and <br />59.14 C. meet or exceed the floodplain management standards under chapter 6120. <br />59.15 6106.0170 SUBDIVISION AND LAND DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS. <br />59.16 Subpart 1. Purpose. The purposes of this part are to: <br />59.17 A. protect and enhance the natural and scenic values of the Mississippi River <br />59.18 Critical Corridor Area during development or redevelopment of the remaining large sites <br />59.19 within the corridor; <br />59.20 B. establish standards for protecting and restoring biological and ecological <br />59.21 functions of primary conservation areas on large sites; and <br />59.22 C. encourage restoration of natural vegetation during development or <br />59.23 redevelopment of large sites, where restoration opportunities have been identified in <br />59.24 local plans. <br />6106.0170 59 <br />
