0~CASE #10: AIRPORT STUDY <br /> <br />A) Enclosure (D2-j) contains the following documents that <br />Council should take action on at this meeting: <br /> <br />1) State of Minnesota Department of Transportation <br />State Aid for Airport Site Study - Council must authorize <br />and sign subject form which establishes City share and <br />State share for covering cost of site study. <br /> <br />2) Sample resolution which the State of Minnesota wants <br />the Council to-execute which authorizes Council to sign <br />the above document stated in paragraph (a) above. <br /> <br />B) Secondly enclosure (D2-k) is quite important and Council <br />may also want to attend the public hearing scheduled at the <br />State Capitol at lO:O0 A.M., May 15, 1980. In view of this <br />Council may want to discuss this also at a special meeting <br />on May 14, 1980. <br /> <br />A8mlnistrator's Comments: The proposed legislation that <br />the legislators are proposing in enclosUre (D2-k) if passed <br />would kill .a lot of airport projects if it beconms law in- <br />the next session. The proposed law does do one thing as it <br />proposes to keep airport development in the local citizenry <br />hands. Consequently, inasmuch as the City has a big involve- <br />ment in money in this airport, I don't believe this proposed <br />law would help you out. Just from my experience, I can tell <br />you citizens aren't too. appreciative of airports when they're <br />in their backyard. <br /> <br />Council Action: Your action will be as follows: <br /> <br />a) Approve/disapprove resolution as contained in enclosure <br />(O2-j) <br /> <br />O'~ASE #11: <br /> <br />b) Does Council plan on attending the public hearing as we <br />should notify the State Department of Aeronautics <br /> <br />REPAIR/REPLACE CITY ASSESSOR VEHICLE: <br /> <br />In regard to last discussion on the Assessor's vehicle, <br />Jack's Auto Repair to Lester it would cost $100 to just <br />check out the rear end of his car and that was not doing <br />any repairs. Also, he stated all other things previously <br />mentioned need to be done. <br /> <br />We eau replace that car with the Police matador and go for <br />bids on a new Police unit. The Cost approximately is <br />$6,935 'six to eight weeks if accomplished before May 31, <br />1980. <br /> <br /> <br />
