Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Reimann to direct staff <br />to include in the requirements in the negotiations with Waste Management that <br />they monitor the wells adjacent to the 'landfill that the city considers to be <br />affected and that the city will choose the testing agency. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes-Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann and Cox. <br />Voting no-None. <br /> <br />Motion by ~ayor Gamec and seconded by Councilman Reimann to direct the County <br />H%alth Department to immediately test all residential wells at all houses on <br />the east side of Garnet by ~ay 30, 1980 at no cost to'the city. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes-Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann and Cox. <br />Voting no-None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Sorteberg to require that <br />Waste Umnagement finish cleaning up the lime sludge on proPerties bordering <br />the landfill, which residents present atthe meeting stated was not completed <br />and to get the carpet cleaned in homes where the childre~ have tracked into the <br />house on properties bordering the landfill. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes-Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann and Cox. <br />Voting no-None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann to adopt Resolution 80-29 requesting delay in <br />the Environmental Service Committee in regards their meeting o£ May 15, 1980 . <br />in taking action on license renewal for ~aste~anagement' at the Ramsey landfill. <br />Motion seconded by Councilman Sorteberg. Please refer to resolution file for Resolution <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle recommended setting up a committee of five people to <br />monitor the landfill situation and to handle negotiations on %he landfill contract. <br />He recommended that two residents from the landfill area be on the committee. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec directed City Administrator Schnelle to send.out a letter to citizens <br />in the area of the landfill stating the city.is considering forming a eo~ttee <br />and would like names from residents interested. He also directed him to draw up <br />a resolution to form this committee. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Counci]_man Sorteberg to ask~ <br />for a $.lS/cubic yard rate increase of Waste Management. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes-Mayor Gamec~ Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann and Cox. <br />Voting no-None. <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka indicated he would go ahead and put in the test well and <br />have an analysis done and add it to the Barr .F~ngineering report. He asked <br />for the Council's agreement to wait until the Bart report was done. He also <br />asked that Waste Management would be permitted to use the street might-or-%way <br />if they needed to. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec directed %he City Engineer to get the analysis on the first <br />Barr report that is due in June to see i£ things couldn't be speeded up. <br /> <br />C/May 13, 1980 <br />Page 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
