RESOLUTION 80- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION STATING THE CITY OF RAMSEY'S FEELING ON TKE UNFAIRNESS OF THE <br />STATE TAX STRUCTURE ON C~RCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL FACILITIES AND BARE <br />RESIDENTIAL, COMMYJICIAL~ AND INDUSTRI_~L PLATTED LOTS <br /> <br /> ~EREAS, the City Council, City of Ramsey, Anoka County, <br />State of Minnesota feels that the present laws governing real estate tax <br />valuation and how it is established is unfair and also how it is applied <br />to co~nercial and industrial facilities and bare residential, commercial, <br />and industrial platted lots,. <br /> <br /> ¥~EREAS, the City Council, City of Ramsey, Anoka Couo. ty, State <br />of Minnesota, feels that the present laws are not flexible enough to re- <br />act to current economic conditions, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council, City of Ramsey, Anoka County, State <br />of Minnesota, feel that the area wide tax applied to commercial and in-' <br />dustrial facilities is extremely unfair in the outer tier suburbs where <br />no benefits are drived such as sewer, transportation, etc. <br /> <br />NOW THLREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF RAMSEY, CITY OF RAMSEY, <br />~0KA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1) Direct the City Assessor of the City of RamSey to reduce <br />the land and building valuation established for 1980 back to the 1979 <br />valuation on the following types of land/building/bare land: <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />o) <br />d) <br />e) <br /> <br />Commercial buildings and land <br />Industrial buildings and <br />Class W properties <br />Bare platted zoned commercial and industrial <br />New construction if any on industrial/commercial <br /> <br /> 2) Direct that copies of this resolution be.sent to the State <br />of Minnesota, Commissioner of Revenue, Anoka County Board stating that the <br />present methods of establishing valuation on all property in the State of <br />is not a fair process as stated above. <br /> <br /> 3) It, therefore, requested that the Governor, b_is appointed <br />Comnfiss~oner and State Legislation establish a tax law that adjusts to cur- <br />rent economic situations. <br /> <br /> <br />
